Originally established as Hanzely's Nursery and Garden Center in 1989 by Henry Hanzely and his two sons, Don and John. Running a family business was a familiar way of life for the Hanzelys. However, when business for a once thriving mink farm turned a corner for the worst, they were faced with an extremely difficult decision. With no time for hesitation, they transitioned from mink farming to flower production. Mink sheds soon became greenhouses and feed mixers soon became dirt mixers. With hard work, dedication and prayer, they found success in the flower business. In 1999, with 10 years of continued growth, a split took place. Don assumed the retail operation, John formed a wholesale company (Hanzely's Greenhouse), and Henry finally retired to his private garden. In 2017, Hanzely's Garden Center, Inc. was formed and Don's retirement begins as the next generation continues their legacy
