Wanted: A 100% Republican State Rep. for #66! Why would a Republican candidate running for House of Representatives in District #66 (northern Indiana County and all of Jefferson) proudly announce that he has Democrats serving on his campaign committee? He did so at the Meet the Candidates night Feb. 18th at the Punxsutawney Country Club and they worked for him at the Indiana Co. Republican Petition Signing event on February 10th. What's 'serving on his campaign' mean? Could it be: advising on platform issues, donating money, or helping a candidate bend toward the wishes of our Democrat governor who stands for: raising taxes, high property taxes, denying school choice, supporting abortions, increasing gun control, supporting sanctuary cities, etc. Wouldn't our tax-and-spend governor just LOVE to find someone who might be less of a 'thorn'in his side? Since Democrats do not have a candidate in this race, could they be encouraging a Republican who might have liberal-leaning values? Jack Matson, with a marketing and sales background, just won his second term as Jefferson County Commissioner. But now he wants to be our state representative. Some of his Jefferson County Republican helpers are not happy with that decision. Brian Smith, age 51, of Punxsutawney, is my choice for #66 State Representative. This graduate of Marion Center High School attended PSU for business and accounting, owns Fastrak Trucking, Orion Logistics, Inc., and Abacus Housing, LLC. He built his 20-year old businesses from the bottom up while serving in many volunteer leadership roles in Punxsutawney. In fact, Brian's 'nose for numbers' and frugal mindset remind me of Cris Dush. He's a 100% conservative Republican who knows which side he's on.
